SolarReviews Recognizes More Than 100 Solar Installers as Pre-Screened Solar Pros

More than 100 of SolarReviews' Solar Installer Partners have achieved distinction as accredited Pre-Screened Solar Pros.

Lakewood, CO (PRWEB) December 08, 2014

Lakewood, CO. Dec. 8, 2014. SolarReviews, the leading consumer site for customer-based reviews on solar installations in the U.S., has now recognized more than 100 residential and commercial solar installers as Pre-Screened Solar Pros. The overwhelming majority of Installer Partners that have achieved the distinction have participated in the accreditation program for more than a year showing the value it holds both for consumers as well as installers.

The performance-based accreditation program uses customers’ actual reviews of their experience with their solar installers and the installation process. In addition SolarReviews makes sure the installer is in good standing and in compliance with all local licensing requirements.

“With so many different individuals and companies vying to install solar for consumers, having the 'Pre-Screened’ accreditation for the past two years lets consumers know Renova Solar has passed several background checks by an objective third party,” said Renova CEO and President Vincent Battaglia. It also demonstrates that we are committed to and consistent in providing the highest level of customer service.”

"Only a handful of solar Installer Partners have achieved the distinction of becoming a Pre-Screened Solar Pro," said SolarReviews President Jamie Lakes. "SolarReviews lists nearly 2,370 solar installers on its site. Of those only 1,117 have been reviewed by customers and of those less than 10 percent, only 103, have achieved the status of being a Pre-Screened Solar Pro."

To qualify for SolarReviews’ Pre-Screened Solar Pro accreditation installers must meet a number of criteria based on customer experience and satisfaction. Pre-Screened Solar Pros must carry a customer satisfaction rating of at least 4.50 out of 5.00 stars on a minimum of 10 customer-generated reviews. At least 3 of the reviews must occur within the past 12 months. In addition, the contractor must have been installing solar for a minimum of 3 years to qualify as a Pre-Screened Solar Pro.

SolarReviews also checks each solar installer interested in becoming a Pre-Screened Solar Pro to ensure it passes ContractorCheck’s criteria, which includes making sure the installer's accounts are current with creditors (no liens or disputes in past 5 years), it has not filed for bankruptcy in the past 7 years and it has submitted the appropriate licensing details.

By taking these extra steps SolarReviews helps ensure that potential solar customers can find an experienced, qualified local installer that will meet their needs and install the solar array that is a best fit for them.

“SolarReviews launched the Pre-Screened Solar Pro program in early 2013. Already we are finding that our Pre-Screened Solar Pro Installer Partners are organically receiving twice as much interest from customers than installers that have not achieved the accreditation,” Lakes said. “Our Installer Partners appreciate the accreditation because it helps drives genuine consumer inquiries to them. In addition, those that have earned Pre-Screened Solar Pro recognition can use the 'Pre-Screened' badge in their marketing and sales materials. They have found that doing so also increases their sales conversion percentages."

"SolarReviews delivers more leads than any other source for Renova Solar and as a master dealer for SunPower this is a paramount objective in our overall expansion plans,” Battaglia said.

Concierge Realty Provides Solutions For Delinquent Resort Inventory

Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) December 08, 2014

Concierge Realty, based in Orlando, Florida, has taken a fresh approach to providing comprehensive timeshare rental, resale and travel services since it was founded in 2011. With a commitment to assisting timeshare industry growth, the company has created a series of services that benefit thousands of timeshare owner customers while supporting the resort developer community.

When a timeshare membership is sold on the secondary market, one member leaves and is replaced with another new member, leaving both parties satisfied and a new customer for the resort where the timeshare membership was originally sold. However, with large amounts of memberships available on the resale market as well as strong increases in new sales at resorts and sales centers, a percentage of accommodation listed for sale goes unused, creating an immediate loss of on-site spend for the resort and frustration for the seller which can lead to delinquencies in annual dues.

Identifying this as a growing issue, Concierge Realty developed a rental program designed to give timeshare owners the option to rent out their timeshare and offset maintenance fees, leaving them with little or no annual financial obligations and providing them with the freedom to not incur additional expenses while they wait to sell their membership. Following its initial success, the service has expanded to enable any timeshare owner to participate in the rental program, giving them the option to rent out their ownership, and then rent another in a different destination for a similar cost.

To ensure success of this rental program, Concierge Realty built an impressive network of travel agencies who have demand for high quality accommodation and could provide a wealth of non-timeshare owner renters to enjoy the unused timeshare weeks; resulting in an all-win situation for timeshare owners, travelers and resort developers.

As the rental program continues to expand, Concierge Realty now proudly offers assistance to resort developers and Home Owners Associations looking to transform delinquent member-owned villas into lucrative rentals, off-setting the negative effects of unpaid maintenance fees. Additionally, the rental program also offers resort developers inactive sales to fill their currently unsold developer inventory. In both cases, participating resorts benefit from additional revenue, on-site spend, and an opportunity to present the benefits of ownership to a prospective new member during their stay.

“I believe our success is primarily because of our unparalleled, in-depth, personalized services that provide timeshare owners with the guidance needed to have the best vacation ownership experience possible, which in turn also benefits the resort developers we work with,” says Michelle Donato, Owner & Licensed Real Estate Broker, Concierge Realty.

Based in Orlando, the timeshare capital of the world, Concierge Realty was developed in 2011 by Michelle Donato, a highly experienced leader in the real estate and vacation club industry. In 2012, Michelle Donato and Sabine Filoni joined their extensive connections, knowledge and experience to grow the company which specializes in the resale and rental of Marriott Vacation Club, Starwood Vacation Ownership, Hilton Grand Vacations and Disney Timeshare Club, among others. Today, Concierge Realty offers timeshare resale, rental and travel services to thousands of clients.

Through its affiliation with prestigious organizations such as the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), an outstanding track record with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and a membership with the National Timeshare Owners Association (NTOA); Concierge Reality is a highly reputable company that strives to provide its clients with excellent service and results.

Efforts to Increase Reach and Impact of Obesity Prevention Work in Early Care and Education Centers Shows National Promise

New model from Nemours Children's Health System for spreading, scaling and sustaining child health programs nationally is detailed in a case study featured in the December issue of Health Affairs

WASHINGTON, DC (PRWEB) December 08, 2014

A childhood obesity intervention targeting early care and education providers in six states shows promise for changing nutrition, physical activity and breastfeeding environments that will greatly benefit young children nationwide. This national model, led by Nemours Children’s Health System, with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), outlines a successful approach to spread, scale, and sustain proven obesity prevention efforts to increase the reach and impact of such programs. The model is detailed in a case study featured in the December issue of Health Affairs.

“The successful spread and scale of our evidence-based early care and education strategy provides both a model and lessons learned for the field as we continue to work together to reverse the alarming trends in childhood obesity,” said Debbie Chang, MPH, enterprise vice president of policy and prevention at Nemours Children’s Health System. “Focusing on the spreading, scaling and sustaining promising strategies has the potential to increase the reach and impact of efforts in obesity prevention and help ensure their ever-growing impact on population health.”

Nemours’ childhood obesity prevention efforts began in Delaware in 2004 as part of a comprehensive plan targeting early care and education centers, schools, primary care institutions, community organizations, and social marketing efforts. To spread, scale and sustain one of these successful strategies, Nemours launched the National Early Care and Education Learning Collaborative to prevent childhood obesity in 2012 in six pilot states with $4.2 million in initial funding from CDC: Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, and New Jersey. Since the launch, the model was adopted in Kentucky, Virginia, and parts of Los Angeles County in California and the initiative has received an additional $7.47 million in CDC funding. Preliminary data indicate significant increases in the percentage of best practices in healthy eating and physical activity that were adopted by early care and education programs in each of the original six states.

The multi-state project supports early care and education providers in improving the quality of care they provide to young children with a focus on improving nutrition, increasing physical activity, reducing screen time, and providing breast-feeding support through a national curriculum and learning collaborative method. The intervention is delivered through state partners, with technical assistance, training, and coaching provided through a national team.

“Simply focusing on spread, scale, and sustainability in early care and education is not enough to change the obesity rate in young children.” Chang said. “Promising strategies across sectors – including primary care schools and other community settings – must consider spread, scale, and sustainability from the outset using lessons learned from the early care and education sector."

How Healthcare Organizations Effectively Integrate Patient Engagement Strategies

WASHINGTON, DC (PRWEB) December 08, 2014

HIMSS Media and Healthcare IT News are proud to announce the 2015 Patient Engagement Summit. Mark your calendars for February 9-10, 2015. The Summit, a national gathering of providers, payers, researchers, academics, and government officials, will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, Fla. More than 30 expert speakers will share their expertise regarding successful patient engagement programs.

When: February 9-10, 2015

Where: Hyatt Regency, Orlando, Florida

Who: The Summit will gather Healthcare IT professionals, clinicians, administrators and public health professionals who are working to meet the requirements of healthcare reform by engaging patients in their own care.

Keynote Speaker: Kyra Bobinet, MD, Senior Instructor, Stanford University

As the Senior Instructor in health engagement at the Stanford University Behavior Design Lab, Dr. Kyra Bobinet directs mobile engagement and other behavior studies in health. She recently founded a behavior design firm, engagedIN, which focuses on engaging patients in improving their health and well-being. Bobinet has devoted her professional life to cracking the code of why patients engage in their health and will share her intriguing findings.

Speakers:
Physicians and healthcare leaders will present compelling case studies from the following healthcare organizations: Intermountain Healthcare, Novant Health, George Washington School of Nursing, Penn Medicine, Parkview Health, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Summa Health System, Carolinas Healthcare System, Miami Children’s Hospital, and The University of Chicago Medicine.

“Many industry stakeholders consider patient engagement ‘the blockbuster drug of the 21st century.’ By creating programs that allow patients to assume more responsibility for their own health, healthcare organizations can reduce costs and improve care,” said John Whelan, Executive Vice President, HIMSS Media. “This is still a relatively new concept, and as such, many providers are unclear how to engage patients consistently and effectively. The Summit will provide real data, technology, tools and case studies on how to better integrate patient engagement into healthcare.”

You Blew It!: "Lanai"

$

Bands like You Blew It! are often self-aware when it comes to genre association, cognizant of the real consequences that come with being tagged as "emo" rather than "punk" or "indie". But this Orlando quintet isn't fooling anyone: they could qualify as any of the aforementioned, but their lineage of heroes traces back from Algernon Cadwallader to Promise Ring to Weezer and Sunny Day Real Estate, not to Guided By Voices or Pavement or Dinosaur Jr. And now, upon signing to resurrected emo stronghold Jade Tree, they've announced an upcoming EP with a typically self-deprecating title, Pioneer of Nothing.

Guilty as charged, perhaps. But You Blew It! are synthesists of just about everything in their record collections, and "Lanai" is their most cohesive statement yet. Gorgeous, interlocking guitar harmonies in off-kilter time signatures, lyrics nostalgic for a moment that's about to pass; that's a standard American Football formation. But You Blew It! are a pop band at heart—they released an entire EP of The Blue Album covers—and so it's as much "Surf Wax America" as "The Summer Ends", making emo's 1999 post-rock and pop-punk branches converge rather than dovetail.

They didn't break this ground, but they continue to cultivate it. Though "Lanai" maintains Keep Doing What You're Doing's impeccable production and increasingly complex musicianship, the spirit is more in line with the title of their debut, Grow Up, Dude. Previously, their ballads were counterbalanced with Tanner Jones' lyrical invective or pissy power chording. "Lanai" instead celebrates warmth—Jones' wistful remembrances eventually fade into a coda of radio-filtered backup vocals and distorted drums under clean guitars. Yeah, they're asking if you can still feel the butterflies, but there are some sounds that just do it for certain people, and "Lanai" is You Blew It!'s version of perfect indie rock, paying tribute while also paying it forward. FHP finds vehicle believed to be involved in Pine Hills fatal hit, run crash

Florida Highway Patrol on Thursday morning found one of the vehicles involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Pine Hills.

Troopers said a tip led them to a 1995 Red Isuzu Rodeo matching the vehicle in the video of the crash at West Colonial Drive near the intersection of Home Folks Drive that killed Carlos Tuberquia Perez, 57, of Orlando.

The vehicle was recovered in an apartment complex in Pine Hills and been towed to be tested for evidence, according to FHP.

Troopers said they are still trying to speak with the registered owner of the Isuzu. They are still searching for the Chevy Silverado that also struck the pedestrian.

According to the FHP, Perez was pushing a shopping cart across lanes of traffic when he was struck by the Isuzu Rodeo, which didn't stop. Seconds later, 36-year-old Carolin Gordon's Jeep sport utility vehicle struck Perez's shopping cart, according to the FHP.  Troopers say Gordon also kept driving, but they were able to track her down after a witness spotted her vehicle's tag number.

The Chevy Silverado didn't stop after running over Perez, who was lying in the roadway, according to troopers.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS. Reported by Click Orlando 11 hours ago.

Theme Parks Cash In On the Holidays Filed under: Company News, Walt Disney, Industry News, Entertainment Industry, Investing

*disney.go.com*

As long as you don't happen to be SeaWorld (SEAS), it's been a good year to be a theme park operator. Disney (DIS) and Universal Studios parent Comcast (CMCSK) are posting record attendance levels, and even regional amusement park operators Six Flags (SIX) and Cedar Fair (FUN) have come through with healthy upticks in revenue this year.

Folks have been trekking out to theme parks in record numbers, and the industry's hoping to close out the year with a seasonal bang on the heels of magnetic holiday offerings.

· Disney is naturally leading the way with its holiday decorations and shows, but the real incremental moneymaker is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party: Guests pay at least $67 for the nighttime event featuring treats and exclusive shows and parade performances. Disney World's Magic Kingdom closes early on the event nights in preparation for the hard-ticket event, allowing it to cash in on two sets of guests in the same day.
· Disney World's neighboring Universal Orlando is running daily re-creations of the Macy's Holiday Parade through early January at Universal Studios Florida, while the adjacent Islands of Adventure theme park is hosting the Dr. Seuss-inspired Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular.
· Like Universal, SeaWorld isn't charging extra for the holiday festivities at its Busch Gardens and SeaWorld parks. Busch Gardens is going with a Christmas Town theme full of lights and holiday performances. SeaWorld is hosting Christmas Celebration, with a wide array of seasonal offerings.

Even the traditional amusement parks are getting in on the fun. Most of the Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks are already closed for the season after October's Halloween events, but the warmer parks are opening at least on weekends for holiday-themed festivities.

*Bah Humbug, Shamu*

SeaWorld, as you can imagine, is in a bit more of a giving mood than its counterparts. One child gets in free for each paying adult at SeaWorld Orlando. SeaWorld San Diego is offering a second year free for those buying annual passes this year. SeaWorld San Antonio is offering access to its water parks next year for those buying a Fun Card pass now.

It's not the only way that SeaWorld is trying to use the holidays to shake its way out of its funk. Some of the parks are offering annual pass holders complimentary tree ornaments.

Then again, it's hard to blame SeaWorld for trying harder. Revenue has declined 6 percent through the first nine months of the year, and its guidance suggests a similar showing for the holiday quarter. Stirring up turnstile clicks hasn't been easy since the "Blackfish" documentary took the operator to task for keeping killer whales in captivity.

*Gifts That Keep on Giving*

It's a much brighter scene at the other parks. Analysts see revenue at Six Flags and Cedar Fair posting year-over-year gains of 7 percent and 9 percent, respectively. That's actually higher than the gains posted through the first three quarters, once again suggesting that October's Halloween haunts and this month's holiday tweaks are succeeding in getting more people to head out to amusement parks that typically thrive in the summertime.

With the economy improving and gasoline prices conducive to driving out to a nearby theme park, it's easy to see why these parks are cornering the market this holiday season. It's a time of giving, but it's also a time for taking.
