A new version of the Spark, plus model upgrades for the Chevrolet range, to be released at Frankfurt
Chevrolet will reveal new model upgrades for the Spark, Aveo, Cruze, Orlando and Trax at the Frankfurt motor show.
A new edition of the Spark, dubbed the Bubble edition, will be launched at the show. Exterior modifications include a new, sportier front bumper, new side skirt trims and 15-inch alloy wheels. Chevrolet has also added bubble decals to the front bumper.
Large sections of the interior have been restyled to match the exterior, including the centre console and instrument cluster. Leatherette seats and Bluetooth connectivity come as standard.
Upgrades for the Cruze include the addition of five new engines to the line-up. A naturally aspirated 100bhp 1.4-litre, a turbocharged 140bhp 1.4, a 124bhp 1.6 and a 141bhp 1.8 are now available as petrol options. A new variant of the 1.7-litre diesel engine will also be added, offering 110bhp and improved CO2 emissions of 99g/km.
Chevrolet's Side Blind Zone Alert system will also be made available on Cruze models in LZT trim. The system scans the blind spot for obstructions and warns the driver via a display on the wing mirror.
This system will also be available on the Orlando, along with a new parking aid that identifies parallel parking spots at low speeds.
Elsewhere in the range, the turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol variant of the Trax will become available with a front-wheel-drive layout. This new Trax variant is capable of 0-62mph in 9.5sec when mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Combined fuel consumption is now 47.1mpg and CO2 emissions are down to 139g/km.
Finally, customers ordering the Aveo with Chevrolet's MyLink connected radio will get a rearview parking camera as standard. The camera is linked to the radio's seven-inch touchscreen interface.
