Total construction activity in metro Orlando for the month of July grew 52 percent when compared with the same month last year, according to McGraw Hill Construction, which looks at contracts awarded for future construction. Local commercial construction activity was up by 230.5 percent, at $126.2 million in July, while residential construction for the month grew 25 percent, reaching $444.5 million.
