2 men wanted in connection to Orlando double homicide arrested

Two men were off the streets Saturday in connection to the double homicide that happened at the Misty Oaks apartment complex and a standoff that happened Friday.

U.S. marshals arrested David Lopez early Saturday morning in North Carolina. Lopez is accused of killing 32-year-old Ron Williams, 27-year-old Amanda Johnson and shooting a third woman at the complex on Hiawassee Street on Aug 5.

Orange County Sheriff's Office later served an arrest warrant to 29-year-old James Hubert Stewart on Adent Court, who they said barricaded himself inside the home.

Deputies had to evacuate dozens of people, including one woman who said she can't believe it was Stewart they were after.

"He's a great guy deep down inside. He's really a good guy. I still don't believe that he murdered anybody," she said.

Officials said Stewart also played a part in the double homicide. Lopez is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. Stewart faces attempted murder charges.

Local 6 spoke with the Williams' family, who said they are relieved that both men were caught and arrested. Reported by Click Orlando 1 day ago.
