The prime suspect in the disappearance of an Orange County teenager is scheduled to appear before a judge Monday afternoon.
Sanel Saint Simon, 43, will make his first court appearance at 1:30p.m. Tuesday.
A body found in the search for 16-year-old Alexandria Chery, the daughter of Saint Simon's girlfriend, was preliminarily identified as the teen, although authorities await more tests before confirming the body was her.
Orange County sheriff's investigators have asked the state to request that Saint Simon be held on no bond.
On Monday, the state filed new felony charges against Saint Simon, a week after Alexandria was last seen alive. Investigators say there is enough evidence to proceed with their investigation as if she is dead, although no one has been charged in her death.
Saint Simon was arrested on a felony county of tampering with evidence. Later, felony obstruction of a criminal investigation was tacked on.
At a hearing on Monday, a judge set his bond at $500,000 for the tampering with evidence charge.
Friends and family of Chery gathered at an Orlando church on Monday night to remember her life.
