A female passenger is dead after a crash along Hoffner Avenue in Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said two vehicles were traveling westbound on Hoffner Avenue on Tuesday night.
One of the vehicles attempted to pass the other vehicle, but ended up sideswiping the vehicle and kept going. FHP is calling the initial sideswipe a hit-and-run.
The suspect vehicle then went around a curve on Hoffner Avenue, lost control and the vehicle, described as an SUV, slammed into a wall at Hoffner Avenue and La Belle Street, troopers said.
The female passenger was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in extremely critical condition, where FHP said she later died.
Troopers said the male driver was at the scene having CPR performed on him.
