A new attraction is heading to the I-Drive area and it features out-of-this-world fun.

Galaxy Fun Orlando, a 48,000-square-foot indoor playground designed for kids ages 12 and younger, opens Monday.

"They can play tag, they can do other things. I've seen kids just exhausted," says Galaxy Fun Orlando CEO Bruce Roudebush.

Roudebush tells Local 6 he's run similar facilities in Europe for several years. The concept is unstructured play and exercise in two main areas. The "mini rocket" is geared toward kids younger than 3 years old and parents are invited to join in that play.

Once your child hits 4 years old, they move to the "maxi rocket" structure for kids only.  More than 100 slides, tunnels, cannons and mazes await the little ones. Parents can relax with free Wi-Fi and a snack bar in the mezzanine area.

"The view from the mezzanine down, you can actually see out over the playground and that's a vantage point you really don't see anywhere else," says Roudebush.

And don't let the I-Drive location fool you. The focus is local parents.

"We wanted to find something affordable and accessible to local people who are here. We'll get the tourists. They'll find us. But we want that to be the icing on the cake," Roudebush said.

Prices range from $9.99 to $19.99 depending on the age of your child. Galaxy Fun Orlando also offers birthday parties and events.

Doors open at noon Monday. Reported by Click Orlando 20 hours ago.
