Orlando police officer dragged, injured during stop

An Orlando police officer conducting a stop Thursday night was dragged by a vehicle and injured.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the 1200 block of Polk Street.

According to Orlando police, the officer stopped a silver SUV and during an investigation the driver grabbed the officer, puling him partially into the vehicle while speeding away.

The driver dragged the officer about 20 feet before fleeing the scene, Orlando police said.

The officer was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries and was later released.

No arrests have been made in the case.

No other details, including the names of the officer and suspect, have been released.
